In 1932, Don Felling ‘46 helped his father Ralph “B.B.” Felling work to build the ballpark that would be known as Eastside Ballpark for the next 24 years. His role, the first time he remembered helping at the young age of five, was to provide the counterbalance weight to the drag his father was pulling to level and prepare the field.

McCook in 1980….Do you remember? It was an era absent of McDonald’s, Wendy’s and other chain restaurants. But, it was the time of Peters’ Drive In, Champion Billiards and Grill, A & W Root Beer, Dairy Queen, and, of course, the legendary Mac’s Drive In. There was no Wal-Mart Supercenter but rather a Gibson’s Discount and Alco. Twenty-eight years of history has seen the community metamorphose into what it is today.

We’ve got the remedy for those nagging High School Football “DREAMS”. The CC Fair Board has approved and scheduled a “Full-Pads” Alumni Football Game at the 2008 Chase County Fair.
